Please Take Care of Yourself
Initially I was planning to write yet another chapter of my university life here, but somehow as I write and rewrite my lines out, my mind keep on flashing images of the heinous crimes committed in just these couple of weeks.
The UTAR student who was slashed to death as he was walking back to his house left me shaking with fear and anger. He did not brandish a flashy handphone around his neck, he did not carry a thick fat wallet, and he didn’t even wear expensive branded apparels. All he was doing was just carrying his laptop, his bag and walking back to his apartment.
And on the blady same day another student was slashed on his head and hand. And our police response is equally as atrocious. Not only were they not doing anything concrete to resolve this matter, they have the balls to ask the students to TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS THEMSELVES! Wtf!
Gone are the days where we could walk without fearing for our safety. I shudder to think of the times that I walked back alone from N Park or Gelugor in the middle of the night to Saujana. Or even the times when the girls walked back from church after practice. Or Christine as she passed by the rumah setinggan area to reach Hamna. God thank you for Your protection all these times on all of us.
To all my fellow friends who are still in uni, PLEASE, PLEASE take extra precaution. This is a f****d up world that we are living in. Scott has written several good precautions on his blog. Read it. DO IT. Please. I don’t want to read about you in the newspaper.

Bloody fellows so extreme that they feel KILLING the victim is better so that criminals can’t be identified. It is understandable why USM is becoming so strict about Matrics card and entry into campus grounds. And with the ‘efficiency’ of the police these days, you are better off NOT RELYING on them for public safety! The only chance that they will catch a robber/murdered is if his getaway vehicle has expired parking ticket.
It’s up to ourselves to keep ourselves safe. Remember ah, guys… It’s a gentlemanly thing to escort the girls home.

damn. they should have gotten them earlier
but this statement..
“Wangsa Maju MP and Federal Territories Ministry parliamentary secretary Yew Teong Look said the public are indebted to the police for their hard work in tracking down the criminals”
idiots. if they (the police) are doing their work in the first place there wouldn’t be any of this nonsense!

At least got higher budget for the police force. Fewer parking ticket cops, more on-the-beat and a few traffic-jam handlers please.

yup. just now as i drive back from work i counted not less than 10 blady traffic police just catching people that drive on emergency lane. not that i’m discrediting them, but this just shows where the priority is

Two new studies show why some people are more attractive for members of the opposite sex than others.
The University of Florida, Florida State University found that physically attractive people almost instantly attract the attention of the interlocutor, sobesednitsy with them, literally, it is difficult to make eye. This conclusion was reached by a series of psychological experiments, which were determined by the people who believe in sending the first seconds after the acquaintance. Here, a curious feature: single, unmarried experimental preferred to look at the guys, beauty opposite sex, and family, people most often by representatives of their sex.
The authors believe that this feature developed a behavior as a result of the evolution: a man trying to find a decent pair to acquire offspring. If this is resolved, he wondered potential rivals. Detailed information about this magazine will be published Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
In turn, a joint study of the Rockefeller University, Rockefeller University and Duke University, Duke University in North Carolina revealed that women are perceived differently by men smell. During experiments studied the perception of women one of the ingredients of male pheromone-androstenona smell, which is contained in urine or sweat.
The results were startling: women are part of this repugnant odor, and the other part is very attractive, resembling the smell of vanilla, and the third group have not felt any smell. The authors argue that the reason is that the differences in the receptor responsible for the olfactory system, from different people are different.
It has long been proven that mammals (including human) odor is one way of attracting the attention of representatives of the opposite sex. A detailed article about the journal Nature will publish.
