Thank You Dear Housemates!

After parting paths with my housemates last year after my semesters, we hardly had a chance to hang out together just to keng kai and talk nonsense. By some weird coincidence all of us happened to be able to meet up at Ipoh for a good time of catching up.

I was supposed to work on that Sat, but my colleague changed with me so got an early weekend, Scott was accompanying her gal back to Ipoh at that time, Mei Yee didn't go to Bangkok so lepaking in Ipoh, Grace was there for the week before going back to KL, Mary did not go to camcam, so in Ipoh as well, Pei Yao got school holiday and Kim just came back to Ipoh after her professional exams. How coincidence can that be?

Reached Ipoh at about 2pm. The Medan Gopeng bus station is pretty spacious and clean, a far departure from beloved Puduraya. How come all these stations at other states Malacca and Penang springed to mind) are far better than the busiest one?

Scott played host to me for this trip (thanks bro! BTW, your room looked just like mine! This guys is one of the most generous guy I've ever known, always offering his car or to drive people around.

We went to 1919 (what kind of name is that for a Nyonya Baba restaurant?) for our dinner. Not too sure because Mary looked like a kiddo or because Scott doesn't looked rich enuf, the waitress seemed very uninterested to serve us. She even got the nerve to say we can only eat for one hour there since the whole restaurant is booked at 7.30pm. Ridiculous service!

The food was not that bad. First time I eat brinjal fried like french fries. You gotta try it to believe it. We saw a signature dish, some tauhu stuffs and quite interested to try it. The waitress warned us they only sell the dish if there are at least 5 people eating. She told us its huge. When the dish came we were lefts jaws gaping. It's really that huge.

Since we got politely ushered out before 7pm, we decided to catch a drink somewhere. After walking at the street for a while, we decided to get a drink at the quietest cafe. We sat for bout 6 straight hours! Crazy people!

I really missed all the good time of just chatting around with people I feel comfortable with. Mei Yee said our housemates experiences can be compiled into a huge drama series packed with love, rivalry, tears and all sorts. Incidentally Mary did compiled one, though in a short video clip (thanks Mary!)

After this most likely we will be hard pressed to find time to meet up again. Me will be perpetually in KL, Scott in JB, Mary in Seremban, Pei Yao in Kuching, Kim in Penang, Mei Yee in…wherever Joshua's gonna be posted and Grace will be in Japan.

Guess the next time will be during the convocation. So dear housemates, round 2 of chatting again this coming august k?
